PTFE and Hydrophilic Coating Options and Capabilities

Merit Medical Coatings applies PFOA-free polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) coating as well as hydrophilic coating to medical tubes and round or flat wires. We offer coating options that vary in lubricity and texture and can meet the requirements of nearly any medical device tubing or wire. Coatings are applied using our world-renowned spool-to-spool process prior to further processing.

Features

  • PES is used on its own or in combination with LubriSkin or DuraSkin finishing

  • Hard, thin, textured surface

  • High wear resistance
  • Stronger bond between the various layers results in a harder surface

Hydrophilic SlipSkin™

Features

  • Coating consisting of an N-vinyl-2-pyrrolidinone and butyl methacrylate random copolymer.
  • Slippery when wet, excellent crossability
